Adobe Photoshop. Once you get used to all the commands and tools, its easy to use.
It just proves my theory..

I personally prefer the illustrations Ralph Steadman did for the book version, and I think one got put on the cover of the movie. He is a crazy mo-fo... I have a link to some of his stuff in my blog.
